Kandinsky lesson plan - first grade
In first grade, this lesson was able to introduce the abstract artist they were beginning to learn about, Wassily Kandinsky. Within this lesson, they were able to understand who Kandinsky was and how he created his art. They were introduced to the word "Synesthesia" and how Kandinsky had it. They then learned about mood and colors of music and created their own abstract art piece based on the music they were listening to.
Mosaic Lesson Plan- Third grade
This lesson was an introduction to a new unit on Roman and Byzantine art for the third grade classes. Here they learned what mosaics were, and how they were made. They were put into groups to create a mosaic and work collaboratively. Here they learned about symbolizm and representation as well, they created a mosaic that could represent their groups using symbols.
