Loveland Classical Schools-

Second   Placement

Highschool Painting

In Highschool Painting, I had entered this placement when they were beginning their projects on Landscapes. They had done little studies and sketches before their final project which took a good portion of time. They began their final landscape paintings which took some time as well, however they paid a lot of attention to detail. The last thing they began working on before the end of my student teaching was figure paintings. I had lead them on this project in which painting 1 was painting 3-5 gestures within their canvas, and painting 2 had to complete one complete figure with a lot of color.

Middle School Painting

Middle school painting they were beginning their still life studies when I entered. They took a while planning and sketching in order to know exactly how they can create it on their final. This project required a limited color pallet in order for them to understand more color theory. After this project, they moved onto painting their shoes and learned the history of van Gough's shoe paintings on how he was able to share who he was from these shoe paintings.

Middle school 3D art

Middle school 3D art was a class I had joined in occasionally in order to see more within the school. They were in the middle of creating Rococo shoes using cardboard, construction paper, and paint. They then moved on to making mythological creatures with clay and did some background research on who they were creating it on. Their focus was on Greek mythological creatures during this project.

Highschool Drawing

Highschool drawing was a class I took the lead on for most of my student teaching. When I came into the school they had just finished their perspective drawings in which they had to draw a city based on either linear, two point, or three point perspectives. I Then introduced them into a new unit on rendering and figure drawing in which drawing 1 created a figure, drawing 2 created hands, and drawing 3 did expressive faces. The key thing in this project was rendering with color specifically based on the mood or emotion they wanted to express. Lastly we ended with the social justice unit in which they had to focus on the definition of social justice and create an alegory
